Lost Pet Resources
If you have lost or found a pet, the first place you should contact is your local humane society or animal shelter. Check back daily. Check if your neighborhood has a lost and found facebook group, and be sure to post listings on the resources below. If your pet is microchipped be sure to contact the microchip company to report them lost/found. If you are unsure of the manufacture of your pet’s chip, use the AAHA microchip look-up below to find the most likely manufacturer.
Center for Lost Pets– Free national site sponsored by the HSUS to post lost and found pets.
Lost Pet USA– Search tools, resources, and free poster templates.
Lost & Found Pets of WA State– Facebook group for sharing lost and found pets in an effort to reunite.
Nextdoor– Neighborhood social networking/classifieds/lost&found.
Pet Amber Alert– Alerts businesses and registered users of lost animals in their area. ($29.95 and up)
Pet Harbor– Free search of participating shelters and animal rescue organizations.
Missing Pet Partnership – National, nonprofit organization (based in Bellingham, WA) dedicated to reuniting lost companion animals with their owners/guardians

Microchip Lookup Tool (AAHA)– Searches all major microchip databases for registration information.

American Kennel Club Pet Recovery – Microchip information and search site.
